*Secrets in this system are encrypted using a secure hashing algorithm and salt value. If you are not familiar with this process, basically your secret is communicated to my web server, which automatically adds a unique value to the secret, and then it jumbles it all up using a very secure hash algorithm which is then stored in my database along with your member registration information. Once your secret is hashed, there is no way to unhash it. So, if I look at your password in the database, I have no way of knowing what it is. If someone else were to ever get a peek at my data, they would have no way of knowing what it is. The addition of a salt value means that even if someone retreived your hashed secret from my database and knew the encryption algorithm and they hashed every password on the planet, they would not be able to match the secret from my database, since it also has a second unique value hashed within it.
